Opening file with ASPX extension

I should be able to open files with the .aspx extension authored by my bank. However, the file is grayed out when I attempt to do this. How fix?

MacBookPro Core Duo, Mac OS X (10.5.7), 2 GB RAM

Jerry --

Technically, any browser should open it.

I found this:
+Adobe Acrobat 9 will open .aspx files on Mac OS 10.+
+When prompted to "save" or "open" the file, choose Adobe Acrobat to open.+

You could do a "Get Info" on the file, (Apple Key along with the letter " i " key)
Look where is will say "Open With" and then choose Acrobat Reader. See if that helps, as well.

I read this in an old post:

"I have had the same problem, and wondered why the download was not a pdf, so I tried changing .aspx to .pdf. This worked for me as far as viewing is concerned, (simply double click and it opens into AcrobatReader). However, my only priner is old and no drivers are avialble for OSX, so I have to transfer files to my old G3 for printing. That's where I hit trouble, because page printing info is apparently missing from an aspx converted in this way (although the file is still viewable). It may print using OSX.

Apple really need to address this problem."

I really loved the part about "Apple needs to address this problem"

Folks,

The other solution I have just discovered is that by right clicking on the link and selecting 'download linked file', the file appears in my Downloads folder with a .pdf extension such as ShowPage.aspx.pdf and opens in Preview, whereas if I simply click on the link it comes through as ShowPage.aspx

This worked with a link embedded in an email from a trusted source and using Mail as the email client. Not sure if it will work elsewhere, but might help others
